Biography:

Beth Kope has lived in Alberta, Quebec and Australia, has travelled extensively and has called Victoria BC home for over twenty years. She has worked in education at all levels, research and editing as a contract writer, and now supports students at Camosun College through the Disability Resource Centre. She has been previously published in anthologies and literary magazines. Falling Season is her first book of poetry. A play is currently in the works.

Falling Season is a book of poetry that traces the arc of memory and loss through a parent’s illness and struggle with dementia. In search for meaning during the care-giving experience, the narrator explores the challenge of Lewy Body honestly and reflectively. It is built on the narrative of loss and weaves in family stories, childhood memories and the challenges of holding someone close as they disappear.
