Images, graphs, and diagrams are all referred to as 'figures'.
Give your figures a consecutive number in the order that you present them in your paper, but abbreviate 'Figure' to 'Fig' and add a period after the number. For example, 'Fig. 2.'
Give each figure a title, capitalizing the first word and omitting 'A', 'An', or 'The'.
Follow the figure title with 'Adapted from' and cite the source for the figure.
Use the same citation format you would for articles, books, or any other source:
in the body of your paper, include the citation number in square brackets.
In your reference list, provide all the citation information your reader would need to find the source.
The figure title and citation should appear below the figure.
