Camosun Makerspaces

Class Tours and Workshops 

Instructors and staff are available to arrange a tour or orientation tailored to your class or group's specific learning outcomes. To begin, please schedule a consultation with us to identify a time that works for everyone involved. 

Register your Class or Group

To register a group use this template and email it to makerspace@camosun.ca (Max class size per tour/workshop is 20 people)

Refer to this sample file to use a starting point:  import_event_registrations.csv. The fields in the CSV must be in the following order, required fields in bold:  

  • First Name: Provide the first name of the event registration.  
  • Last Name: Provide the last name of the event registration.  
  • Email: Provide the email address of the event registration.  
  • Registration Type: Choose the registration type (either "in-person" or "online"). Defaults to In-Person Registration. 

Consultations & Support

Book a consultation with our Makerspace subject matter expert, Tabitha Lewis, at lewist@camosun.ca to begin your journey in makerspace pedagogy. This is a great way to explore how makerspace technology can be incorporated in your course while sparking creativity and enhancing student engagement in the class. 

Faculty and staff can book a consultation or tour from the Camosun Service Portal. 

 

Online Resources

Connect Resources to D2L  

Some of our asynchronous learning resources on topics like Podcasting Basics and 3D modelling will be available from our website and can be integrated directly into your D2L course. To get started, please contact the Instructional Designers from the CETL team.

Tools and Technology 

All active Camosun students and staff have access to a variety of technologies, ranging from 3D printers and scanners to audio production gear and cameras.  Some of the technology can be reserved or borrowed for up to 5 days for students.    

Instructors can request an extended loan by emailing lewist@camosun.ca 

 

New Podcast Studio at Lansdowne

We new have a dedicated space to record audio and video for podcasts or other multi media.  The Podcast studio is now located in the Lansdowne Library – Room 141.  Students or staff can complete the online orientation and be ready to book.
