Camosun Makerspaces

Getting Started

Follow these few steps to get started.

1. Complete Orientation - Link
  • Log on to the D2L site using your Camosun ID#.​

  • Click on the My Tools menu​

  • Click on Discover​

  • Self-enroll in the Makerspace Learning Hub and Click on Podcast Studio Orientation

2. Booking the Space
  • Go to the Podcast booking page ​

  • Choose a day and time you want to come in​

  • Fill out the form and leave any additional notes.

3. Signing out/Returning Key and Additional Tech
  • Sign out the key and any other addition tech requested ​from the library front desk.

  • Return key and any borrowed items​ to library front desk after session.

Choose Your Configuration

Technology
  • Yeti Nano or Shure MV7 USB mic with mic stands, ​
  • Plug the USB cable into your computer away you go!​
  • Headphones can be plugged directly into the microphone to monitor your voice.​
  • Works on Windows and Apple computers
Technology
  • Vocaster Studio II with 2 mics and audio interface 
  • Download this (link) software to use it to its full capabilities.​
  • Plug the audio interface into your computer​
  • You can bring your own headphones or sign out Headphones from the library desk

  • Rodcaster Pro II with 2 – 4 mics ​
  • ATEM Mini Pro & 2 DSLR Cameras​

Makerspace staff can set up the room to ensure your recording is all set before your booking.​ You can bring your own headphones or sign out Headphones from the library desk.

Reserving Additional Equipment

The MPS has a large amount of equipment for use both inside of the space and externally for your own personal or professional use. For podcast sessions indicate if you need additional equipment in your booking form and Makerspace staff will add it to your booking.  Items will be placed in the room for your booking.
