Choosing a database

Library databases usually hold a unique collection of resources - articles, books, streaming videos, government standards, images, or even 3D anatomy models.

Databases are reviewed and carefully selected by Camosun librarians for their relevance to our programs. We subscribe to a variety of resources so that all students have access to appropriate and reliable sources of information for their studies. Even better, these are all instructor approved resources!

We have arranged the A-Z list of databases into 25+ subject areas to make it easier for you to see the ones related to your discipline. Select your subject area from the drop down subject list.

Here's a sample of just three of our many database subject areas (highlighting a few unique resources in each area). Note that once you visit the individual subject page, you will often see a list of Best Bets at the top. These can be a good place to get started.

Finding database sources from a Research Guide

Librarians have created Research Guides that will highlight the most relevant resources for either your program area (e.g., History or Dental) or for a specific course and assignment (e.g., MARK 110 or AHLT 104).

Generally, each of these guides will list the databases that are key resources in your discipline. Because some research guides are very assignment specific you may also see additional resources mentioned that didn't show up on the subject page.

Off campus access

The off campus login for library resources is the same as your Camosun domain account login (also used for D2L).

You can reset your Camosun domain password at https://password.camosun.ca.

For other problems accessing library resources off campus, please submit a trouble report.
