PSYC: Psychological Tests

Welcome

This guide is designed to help students find information about psychological tests. The Camosun Library does not maintain a print or online collection of standardized tests although we do have books and databases with articles that provide helpful descriptive and evaluative information about tests. These resources are referred to throughout this guide.

Some of the library's online resources included in this guide may require you to log in with your student or employee number.

About Psychological Tests

Psychological tests are expensive and are difficult to find. Finding information about tests is easier and probably all that will be required in most courses. The following resources should give you enough information to find the tests you need.

Test Reviews Online
This site is the best place to start.
3 different ways to search for relevant test titles.
When you find a useful test, record the title, purpose, and where it is reviewed.

ETS Test Link
A good second step.
Test summaries are longer here and there are lots of descriptors applied to each test.
Choose a descriptor to get a list of all the other tests that have been given that same heading.

Tests: a comprehensive reference for assessments in psychology, education, and business (BF 176 T43 2003 Lansdowne Library, Reference)
Basic information on thousands of assessment instruments.
Does not review tests.

FAQ/Finding Information About Psychological Tests
American Psychological Association web page which describes, in more detail, how to find tests and information about tests.

Mental Measurements Yearbook (no longer available at Camosun)
Professional reviews of tests, validity and appropriate age groups for its use.
Test Reviews Online tells you which volume of Mental Measurements contains the review you want in the "Reviewed In" section.
