The following images show examples of different geographic boundaries available in Simply Analytics, to help you understand your options.
The boundaries in these images are (as close as is possible) arranged from biggest area to smallest.
Country: Canada is the largest area Simply Analytics offers.

Province. This image shows British Columbia

Census Divisions (CD) - In this image, the green lines mark different census divisions in British Columbia

Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) - CMAs are used for population centres with at least 50,000 people in the center and another 50,000 people living right around it. CMAs are not available for rural areas. This image shows the Victoria CMA.

Census Subdivision (CSD) - A sub-section of a census division. This image shows the CSD of Victoria. (Note how it includes Fernwood, James Bay, and Vic West.)

Census tracts (CT) - A section of a Census Subdivision. In this image, the green lines mark different census tracts in the Victoria CSD.

Forward Sortation Area (FSA) - The first three characters in postal codes. FSAs are slightly larger than CTs. In this image, the green lines mark different FSAs in the Victoria CSD.

Dissemination Areas - The smallest geographic area available in Simply Analytics. In this map, the green lines mark different dissemination areas available within the Victoria CSD.
