Simply Analytics

Getting started with Simlpy Analytics

SimplyAnalytics is a mapping tool and statistical analysis tool. It allows you to create maps or tables displaying Canadian demographic, business, and marketing data. You may find it useful for:

  • analyzing census data (population, age, income, family size...) at different levels of geography
  • creating maps or tables displaying characteristics of people living in an area
  • identifying potential business locations and locating competitors in a local market

Please note, access to SimplyAnalytics is limited to 5 Camosun users at a time.

The geographic boundaries available in SimplyAnalytics are borrowed mostly from Statistics Canada's Census geography. Examples of boundaries include provinces/territories, census metropolitan areas, census subdivisions, forward sortation areas (the first three characters of a postal code), and dissemination areas. To visualize the differences, see the examples on the 'Census geography in pictures' page.
