Camosun Showcase 2024

Camosun Showcase is a college publication dedicated to highlighting and sharing faculty, staff, and administrator stories of innovation, research, and creativity. We are excited to announce that we are currently welcoming contributions for the seventh issue of Camosun Showcase.

As a platform for showcasing the talent, expertise, and achievements of Camosun faculty and staff, we’re looking for articles that tell the story of projects within and beyond the classroom: stories of discovery, connection, collaboration, community engagement, industry collaboration, student partnership, and self-reflection.

Potential submission topics include (but are not limited to!):

  • Innovation in teaching and learning
  • Climate change and sustainability
  • Applied learning
  • Interdisciplinary projects
  • Professional learning and development / Scheduled Development projects
  • Community or industry outreach, projects, or partnerships
  • Online or hybrid teaching and learning

Expression of interest deadline: December 15, 2023

Send your interest to contribute – one or two sentences describing the topic of your project – to the Camosun Showcase project coordinators via this form: Camosun Showcase 2024 Expression of Interest. A project coordinator will follow up with more information and specific criteria. 

 

Submission Deadline: January 31, 2024

Camosun Showcase 2024: Submission Form & Guidelines

Your submission will include three parts:

    1. A short biography including your area(s) of interest (maximum 100 words)
    2. A description of your project (maximum 500 words)
    3. Photographs and other images (optional): we would also like to include your own photos or images that highlight your piece in some way. The Showcase coordinators will send guidelines for the submission of photos and other images.

Any photos or images to accompany your submission can be uploaded to the Submission Form as per the following guidelines:

  • JPEG format

  • Minimum 150dpi (ideally 300 dpi)

  • Minimum file size of 1 MB

  • Include a caption describing the photo or image

  • Include names of individuals in the photos

  • Include the source of any images that are copyrighted (e.g, a photographer’s credit)

It’s helpful to have a few different images to choose from if possible. Please note that the Showcase coordinators will need to confirm the quality of any photos with Graphic Design Services.

 

Individual photos: We will work with contributors to arrange individual photos to be taken on Lansdowne and Interurban campuses in the early spring to accompany submissions.

Publication Date: Camosun Showcase 2024 will be published in September 2024
