  • Use accomplishments language to connect you to the job description
  • Relevant skills and experiences can be drawn from your classroom and coursework
  • Incorporate the specific language of the job description into your resume
  • Use strong verbs (designed, coordinated, developed, negotiated, compiled, assembled)
  • Research the organization thoroughly before interviewing
  • Emphasize your strengths and integrity when asked challenging questions
  • Prepare to ask thoughtful questions that clarify duties, evaluations and challenges of the position
  • End the interview with a summary of your strongest qualifications, a request for a business card and a sincere thank you
  • Follow up with a thank you card to highlight your enthusiasm for the opportunity
